I hope everyone had a great spring break and that you were able to relax and recharge! We’re back to a normal, fun week of school!
Christian Studies:
This week in Christian Studies we’re preparing for Jesus’ crucifixion. We’ll discuss Jesus’ farewell words to His
disciples, and we’ll talk about Peter denying Jesus. In all of these discussions, we’ll apply it
to our lives and talk about grace and God’s salvation.
Math:
This week in math we’ll start our module on measuring in inches. We’ll estimate lengths in inches, we’ll use
nonstandard units to measure, and we’ll measure to the nearest inch. We’ll then make line plots using measurement
data, and we’ll estimate lengths using feet.
Language Arts:
This week we’ll look at the spelling concept of using y as a vowel. We’ll break apart syllables and discuss where
to put the y and how it’s being used as a vowel.
Science:
This week we’ll be hitting science pretty hard, since we put it on pause to work
on writing our book. This week we’ll
look at pollination, how seeds move from place to place, different factors that
make a good habitat, and we’ll use all of that information to find the best
place for a plant to grow.
Social Studies:
We’ll keep working on our unit on America’s beginnings, this week looking at
the colonies under British rule and discussing reasons they wanted their
freedom.
